My passion for photographing the wilderness landscape began at age 14 when I had finally put enough coins in the bank to purchase my first SLR film camera. Wilderness continues to be my source of artistic inspiration.
I believe that being outside has the power to renew our souls. I believe that the best images are made in the worst weather, and that morning and evening light is magical. My passion for capturing great images may now drive me to get out of bed in the darkest part of the night in search of a breathtaking night shot, or to work bare fingered in zero degree weather and driving snow, or even to take the 8 additional pounds of photography equipment on my sixteen mile hike.
Capturing the immensity and beauty of what I experience in the wilderness in the form of a great image is my ultimate challenge.
I have come to realize that I don't photograph because I see.... I see because I photograph.
Thanks for spending a little time enjoying my lifelong passion.
